Does the word "seven" rhyme with "pen"?Could it even be considered a forced rhyme?Scholastic Books thinks so.This book has the ants marching seven-by-seven with the little one stopping to "write with a pen"!The original rhyme with "seven" in this classic song is "pray to heaven."I can understand Scholastic not wanting to have "pray to heaven" in a book sold and used in public schools. But if they couldn't find a suitable substitute rhyme with "seven" than why even bother.

Also, the back cover of the book implies that the rhyme with "two" is "tie his shoe" when inside the book it is actually "cry boo-hoo."There is no mention in the book of ants tying shoes.

In short, if you want to confuse your child then buy this book.If not, then obtain the original lyrics to this song and have fun with your little one.
