(More customer reviews)A very interesting piece of pulp sci-fi. A man is obsessed with studying insects and when an opportunity comes for him to shrink down to size and study them close up, he accepts the challenge.
But there seems to be an intelligence to insects unknown to man so far, and as he gets more and more involved, the odds of his very survival look grim.
Very original and suspenseful with some really great writing. Above par of most of the writing of the time.

About a yard in height and three and a half in diameter, it squatted in the grassy grove next the clump of trees like an enormous, inverted soup plate. Here and there tufts of grass waved on it, of a richer, deeper color, testifying to the unwholesome fertility of the crumbling outer stuff that had flaked from the solid mound walls.
